A Couple of other events for the calendar

AIPP Commercial NSW presents “ Quote to stay afloat” 7th October 2009

As a part of the regular events in NSW, AIPP are holding an evening workshop to discuss how photographers quote for commercial work.

There will 3 jobs available on the night covering a range of commercial activity. All attendees will be asked to put in “the numbers” anonymously on the night for these 3 scenarios. We will then take a break while the numbers are collated and then a panel of experienced commercial shooters will discuss the inevitable range of prices that will come up, as well as discussing broader issues with quoting and estimating. There will be time for Q+A. The session will be chaired by Ross Eason www.eason.com.au , an experienced commercial shooter from Queensland.

AIPP Commercial will also be launching a brand new AIPP publication for your commercial clients “The WhyWhoHow Book“ and we’ll be discussing the strategy behind this publication.

A lucky door prize will be presented on the night.

Book Launch Tonight at the ACP

On Thursday 24 September the ACP will be hosting the launch of Customs Ignored; Lithuanian and Australian Photography, a book from Lithuanian photographer, curator and publisher Mindaugas Kavaliauskas. The book showcases the work of nine Australian and nine Lithuanian photographers who seek to document, discuss, and escape the alienation of afluent Western society.

Mindaugas is Director of the Kaunas Photo festival, where he has exhibited the work of a number of Australian Artists in the recent past. For all who attend, this will be a great chance to meet Mindaugas and find out about possible opportunities for Australian photographers in Europe. The launch will start from 6pm in the ACP lounge and we welcome everyone to join us for a glass of champagne to celebrate.

More information about Mindaugas and Kaunas Photo can be found at their website www.kaunasfoto.info
